The Demodesk Recorder mobile app lets you record meetings directly from your phone with a single tap. After recording, the app automatically uploads the audio to Demodesk, where it is transcribed and analyzed by AI so you can focus on the conversation instead of taking notes.
⚠️ Beta notice: The Demodesk Recorder mobile app is currently in beta testing. You may encounter occasional bugs or unexpected behavior. If you run into issues, the troubleshooting steps below resolve most common problems.

Getting Started
Logging in
Open the Demodesk Recorder app
On first launch, swipe through the onboarding walkthrough and tap Get Started
Tap Login with Demodesk
Your device browser opens the Demodesk login page
Sign in using your Demodesk account credentials
After logging in, you will automatically return to the app
Important: You must already have a Demodesk account to use the app. If you don’t have one yet, sign up at demodesk.com.
Home Screen
When you open the app, the home screen displays:
• A greeting with your name and today’s date
• Today’s upcoming meetings from your device calendar
• Recent recordings made on this device
• A red Record button at the bottom to start recording
Tap your profile picture in the top right corner to access Settings, where you can view account information, see the app version, or log out.
You can also pull down on the home screen to refresh meetings and recordings.
Recent Recordings
The home screen shows the five most recent recordings created on this device.
Tap View all to see your full recording history.
Recordings created on other devices or through the Demodesk web app will not appear here. Those recordings are available on demodesk.com.
Calendar Integration
How it works
The Recorder app reads meetings from your device’s local calendar.
It does not connect directly to the Demodesk calendar or external calendar APIs.
This means:
• Any calendar synced to your phone (Google, Outlook, iCloud, etc.) will appear in the app
• If a meeting appears in your phone’s calendar app, it will appear in Demodesk Recorder
• If a meeting does not appear in your phone’s calendar app, it will not appear in Demodesk Recorder
Calendar Permissions
The first time you open the app, it asks for calendar access.
You must grant this permission to see your meetings.

Scroll down and tap Demodesk Recorder

Adding calendars on iOS
If your work calendar does not appear, you may need to add the account to your iPhone:
Open Settings
Tap Calendar or Accounts
Tap Accounts → Add Account
Select your provider (Google, Microsoft Exchange, Outlook, etc.)
Sign in with your work email
Make sure Calendars is enabled
Once the calendar is synced, your meetings will automatically appear in the app.
Which meetings appear
• The Home screen shows only today’s upcoming meetings
• The Meetings tab shows all future meetings
• Past meetings are not displayed
Recording a Meeting
Quick recording from the Home screen
Tap the red Record button
Grant microphone access if prompted
The recording screen displays a live waveform and timer
Tap Stop when finished
Optionally link the recording to a meeting and add participants
The recording is automatically queued for upload
Recording from a meeting
Tap a meeting on the Home screen or Meetings tab
Tap Record this meeting
The recording is automatically linked to the meeting
Tap Stop when the meeting ends
During recording
You can use these controls while recording:
• Pause / Resume to temporarily stop recording
• Stop to finish the recording
• Cancel to discard the recording without saving
Microphone permission
The app requires microphone access to record meetings.
Enable microphone access on iOS
Settings → Demodesk Recorder → Microphone → Enable
Enable microphone access on Android
Settings → Apps → Demodesk Recorder → Permissions → Microphone → Allow
CRM Sync
The Recorder app can automatically sync recordings with your CRM based on participant email addresses.
How matching works
Calendar events
When recording a meeting with participants listed in the calendar event:
• The app sends those email addresses to Demodesk
• Demodesk checks for matching contacts in your connected CRM
• If a match is found, the recording is linked to that CRM contact automatically
Manual email entry
If the meeting does not contain participant emails, the app will prompt you to enter them after stopping the recording.
These emails are sent to Demodesk and matched against your CRM contacts.
Requirements
To enable CRM syncing:
• Connect your CRM in Demodesk settings on demodesk.com
• Enable CRM Concierge in Agents → CRM Concierge
• Confirm participant emails when prompted
If you skip the email step, the recording will still upload but will not link to CRM contacts.
Tips for reliable CRM matching
• Use the same email addresses stored in your CRM
• Record meetings directly from calendar events whenever possible
• Confirm or add participant emails when prompted
Viewing Recordings
In the mobile app
• Tap any recording to view its details
• Uploaded recordings open the Demodesk recording page with transcription and AI analysis
• If the embedded view fails to load after 30 seconds, the app switches to a local audio player
On the Demodesk web app
Once uploaded, recordings are available on demodesk.com with:
• AI transcription
• coaching insights
• sharing options
Troubleshooting
Restart the app
Force-closing and reopening the app resolves many issues.

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen or double-press the Home button

Log out and log back in
If restarting does not help:
Tap your profile picture
Scroll down and tap Log Out
Confirm the logout
Sign in again using Login with Demodesk
Your pending uploads remain in the queue and will resume after login.
Common issues
Meetings not showing
Check calendar permissions and ensure the calendar account is added to your device. Pull down to refresh.
Recording will not start
Check microphone permissions and restart the app.
Upload stuck on pending
Check your internet connection and restart the app.
Error message: Something went wrong
Tap Try Again or restart the app.
Session expired
Log back into the app.
App crashed during recording
When reopening the app, choose Keep Recording to recover the audio or Discard to delete it.
Storage warning
Free up space on your device.
Embedded recording view not loading
Wait up to 30 seconds or check your internet connection.
Device Requirements
iOS: iPhone with iOS 16 or later
Android: Android 10 or later
Additional requirements:
• Active Demodesk account
• Internet connection for login and uploads
• Recording works offline
Offline Recording
You can record meetings without internet access.
The recording is stored locally and automatically uploads when your device reconnects to the internet.
Without internet access, you cannot:
• log into the app
• view uploaded recordings
• use AI Analyst
Privacy and Data
• Recordings are stored locally until uploaded
• After upload, the local file is automatically deleted
• Audio is stored in Demodesk’s secure cloud infrastructure
• The microphone is used only during active recordings
