Demodesk works with almost all browsers currently in use. We encourage our users to use Chrome or Firefox in their respective latest versions.

For the customers, this is different, as they could be joining on other browsers as well.
However, if you wish to set up a webcam connection or share the customers' local screen, not all browsers are equally suitable. Here is a quick overview of what works:

Microsoft has ended support for Internet Explorer. Therefore it is also not supported by Demodesk anymore.

Please note that most browsers based on Chromium will work with Demodesk. Note that some browsers with high privacy and security features might impact WebRTC

The reason why not all browsers allow to share the webcam or the local desktop is the way the sharing protocols are set up: They rely on WebSockets to establish and maintain the connection, which is not available in all browsers.ย

Local Desktop sharing requires WebRTC and Desktop media to work, which is available in Firefox starting Version 66 and in Chrome starting Version 72.
